Concept
What is your concept? How do your MMC and FMC meet? What obstacles do they face? Remember to keep that on the simple side, since this is a novella. Examples might include she’s his friend’s daughter, or she works for him. There is always at least one obstacle keeping them apart, but it isn’t insurmountable. With a sweet novella, it’s fine to have a small subplot, since you aren’t filling 1/3 of the book with sex.
Ch. 1
FMC’s POV
Being a novella, this is usually the meet-cute chapter, since you want to introduce your characters as quickly as possible. You want enough detail to set up the scene, but the goal is to have them meet as soon as possible. This is her first impression of him, and your main chance to describe him through her eyes. It’s fine to note he has a toned body, but she shouldn’t be too overtly sexual with her observations. She might notice he smells like the outdoors, or his eyes are cornflower-blue. Engage all her senses in describing him and her reaction to him, but keep it tame. He can make her heart flutter, but he isn’t getting her panties wet. There should be some reason why she’s not eager to be attracted to him, whether it’s because of her own personal issues or some external reason, like he’s her new boss.
