This tool is designed to help you quickly generate a plot idea by selecting options and combining them to create a plot. It can used either by making choices at random or deciding on the best combinations with some thought. Combine it with a Story Builder in your chosen niche for best results. This is by no means an exhaustive list of tropes, character types, obstacles, subplots, and plot twists. This guide only includes some common ones to help generate actionable plot ideas.

This is a list of common tropes. Pick 1-3:

1. Friends To Lovers: When friends become lovers. The love can have been one-sided until it starts to develop, or both might have harbored tender feelings but were afraid to admit it for some reason. Another viable option is they were truly just friends for a long time before seeing each other differently, but that’s not as common.
2. Enemies To Lovers: They hate each other, except when they’re having sex. The attraction is there, but it’s buried under/disguised as anger. They don’t see eye-to-eye on anything except that attraction, so they have to work for it harder than some characters. There’s usually give and take on both sides, and compromising is what leads to the HEA…
